PROJECT: Name a cloud-first platform to deploy, accelerate, and secure apps in multi-cloud environments.
VELOS: Velos is a Greek word meaning “arrow.” In ancient Greek mythology, arrows were often associated with healing, protection, and divine intervention.
BRAND POSITIONING: F5 hired us to name an advanced, next-generation multi-cloud application services platform. They were looking for a more abstract name that paired well with “F5,” but that also mapped to the core brand positioning concepts of speed, scalability, flexibility, and resilience.
Zinzin delivered with VELOS, which connotes velocity and, through the Greek meaning of “arrow,” being “on target.” Arrows in ancient Greek mythology were often associated with divine intervention—from the Gods in the “clouds”—which this product figuratively delivers in the multi-cloud application services space.
