PROJECT: Name a new credit score monitoring and money tracking app for SoFi.
RELAY: An act of passing something along from one person, group, or station to another. Sports: A relay race. Electronics: A device that responds to a small current or voltage change by activating switches or other devices in an electric circuit. A crew of workers who relieve another crew; a shift. A fresh team, as of horses or dogs, to relieve weary animals in a hunt, task, or journey. To pass along by or as if by relay.
BRAND POSITIONING: SoFi hired Zinzin to name a new app that tracks all of your money, all in one place, and provides credit score monitoring, spending breakdowns, financial insights, and more — at no cost. The name we created, Relay, is an energetic name that connotes movement, as it transmits — relays — the vital data and analysis members need to better track their finances. SoFi Relay breaks down the “marathon” of personal financial growth into a series of small, discrete, and easily manageable tasks, like segments of a relay race. And like a relay race, this product is collaborative — with Relay, you have a valuable and trusted teammate to help you run your finances.
